Society Events Management Portal Upgrade

The Society Events Management Portal has been upgraded to work on Internet Explorer 7, the newest browser from Microsoft. If you are interested in seeing a demonstration of the Society Events Management Portal, please contact Society Relations.

Websites Unavailable on Saturday, 26 April

The CFA Institute website, as well as all society websites hosted at CFA Institute, will be unavailable on Saturday, 26 April due to maintenance work being performed. Website access will resume on Sunday, 27 April.

Speaker Retainer Program: New Speakers Available

Three new speakers have been added to the Speaker Retainer Program: Harold S. Bradley, Jason MacQueen, and Don M. Chance, CFA. Their expertise covers behavioral finance, alternative investments, equity analysis, risk management, portfolio management, fixed income and derivatives.

Society dues rates for the 2008-2009 Membership Year were due on 1 April. If you have not yet provided this information, please submit this information to Membership as soon as possible to ensure that your rates are updated in time for the renewal billing cycle in May.

Confirm Your Society Dues Rate

It is time to confirm your society's dues rates for the 2008-2009 Membership Year. Presidents, treasurers and staffed office representatives should have received a request to submit your society dues rates. To ensure that your rates are updated in time for the billing cycle in May, please confirm your dues rates by 1 April.

Society Leadership Meetings and Annual Conference in Vancouver, BC, Canada

Society Leadership Meetings will take place from 9-11 May. The Annual Conference will run 11-14 May. CFA Institute provides one complimentary registration to the Annual Conference per society. Additional society members who wish to attend the Annual Conference should register now.

Get Training on the Society Data Center

CFA Institute will conduct training conference calls over the next several weeks for society leaders on the many uses and tools available on the Society Data Center (SDC). Invitations were mailed on 7 February to those that have not attended a training session. If you would like to attend the training and have not received an invitation, please contact us.

Global Investment Research Challenge

The 2008 Global Investment Research Challenge will be held on 1 May at Reuters-Times Square. Check out which societies and universities are competing locally and regionally for the global title! If your society has an interest in organizing a local challenge for 2009, contact Rhonda Reid.

Best Practice - CFA Society of Cyprus Increases Public Awareness

In order to increase public awareness about the CFA designation in Cyprus, the CFA Society of Cyprus has reached an agreement with the Financial Mirror (a leading financial paper in Cyprus) that allows all local CFA charterholders to participate in regular forecasting polls and analysis of various financial topics. The first two polls were conducted in December 2007 and were published in the front page of the Financial Mirror.

Their expertise covers alternative investments; portfolio management; risk management; derivatives and topics that count towards Securities, Ethics and Regulatory (SER) credit for the Continuing Education (CE) Program.

Also for your convenience, the Speaker Retainer Program list now is also available by region.
